I worked with Tad at the plant on the north side of St. Pauls many years ago.He was a fine gentleman in all of my dealings with him.He seemed to always have a good attitude - even when the person he was dealing with did not.I hope to see him in Heaven someday!May God comfort you during this time.

We are so sorry to hear of Tad's passing. When Clayton worked with both Tad and Curtis, he spoke highly of them and enjoyed it. Tad was always kind to assist us even after Clayton's passing. Tad was certainly a good man! He was well respected and appreciated by us. Our condolences to his family; we know he will be missed. The Iveys

Dear Cates Family, I've been working in Raleigh this week and have been unable to convey my deepest sympathies for Mr. Cates. I will always remember the great times we all shared going to Atlanta, NC State games, and even him taking Kevin & I to watch him vote uptown one year. Kevin and I were camping out at the pond once and it started pouring rain and and he instinctively showed up at 2am to bring us home out of the weather. I'll always remember him driving the old tractor back and forth from the brinery or the Toyota Camry with the little trailer in tow. I enjoyed talking to him about his electronics classes and the talks on religion when he became a lay pastor. I will certainly miss him. They don't make good guys like Tad Cates anymore. Jack

Mrs. Cates It seem like only yesterday when Tad was letting me drive his car around the church yard. The both of you were my mentor and set a great example for me as a child. He will sure be missed but always in our hearts. Thoughts and Prayers going out to your entire family. Love Martha Harrell
