Clayton Auburn Baxley, 84, of St. Pauls, NC, passed away at his home on October 27,2020. Auburn graduated from St. Pauls High School in 1956. He retired from DuPont in 2001, after 30 years where he was respected and loved by many. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to watch Nascar and was a die-hard Chevy man. Auburn was preceded in death by his parents Almond and Martha Baxley.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Della Davis Baxley; his daughter, Robin Baxley Long (Stanley); grandchildren, Blair Whitehead (Chad); Madison Long; Vanessa Williamson; Abram Long (Megan); and Joshua Long; great grandchildren, Logan, Maverick, Braylon, CJ and Avery. He will be missed greatly.

The family would like to thank Auburn’s long term care provider, Cindy Guerrero, who has faithfully taken care of him for the past 3 ½ years and Community Home Care and Hospice Staff and especially Tracy and Donna for the care they gave him.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 11 am at Bladen Union Baptist Church Cemetery. On-line condolences may be made to www.mcneillmackiefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 2402 N. Roberts Avenue, Lumberton, NC 28358. The family is in care of McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
