Christine Smith

Christine Jackson Smith, 87, of Fayetteville went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 5, 2018. She was born June 15, 1930 to the late Hoyt and Susan Taylor Jackson of the Tolarsville Community in Robeson County. A strong woman with a beautiful heart, she fiercely loved her family and friends. Her lively wit and spirited nature remained with her to the end. Christine was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Hill Harned and her companion Buddy Calhoun. She is survived by her children, Donna Smith and her husband Bob of Beaufort, SC, Dusty Rhodes and his wife Kathy of Lumberton, Susan Martin and her husband Gary of Fayetteville and Jackie Harned of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Dustin, Crissie, Daniel, and Andrew; great grandchildren, Carson and Casey; brother, Bobby Jackson of Virginia; sister, Barbara Reese; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers and friends at The Crossings of Wayside and Cspr Fear Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Monday 1/8/2018 at 2:00 PM at Tolarsville Baptist Church, 5521 Tolarsville Rd., St. Pauls, NC 28384 with Reverend William Gentry officiating. A Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
