David Ronald Godfrey, 58, of Lumber Bridge, NC died Saturday January 25, 2020 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born on December 17, 1961 in Alamance County, NC. He served with the United States Navy aboard the submarine USS Ray out of Charleston, SC. He was employed by Nvent Electrical & Fastening Solutions. He was a gun enthusiast. He was a hardworking, solitary man who liked being home and loved his friends. David was described as a “sweetheart, a very gentle and wonderful man”. NO FLOWERS PLEASE. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358 . Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.

I wish I would've known he was battling cancer, I would have made the trip down to North Carolina to visit him.Since I left ERICO I reached out to him maybe once or twice, though I thought of him often. Such an absolutely brilliant man, and I will never forget him. One of my most favorite people I have ever worked with. May God Bless You David!

David was my customer and my friend. His prospective on daily life was one of wisdom and truth. Great sense of humor! An honorable man. Hell be often thought of by those who knew him.

David had a great sense of humor and was a kind and friendly person. Much more than that he brought my sister so much happiness during the time they had together and I am so happy they were able to share those years together. We will miss you David.
