Honestly I don't know where to start with this condolence message, because I couldn't believe what I read this morning from Amber. I met Ms Jackson a.k.a Dot at Campbell University. It so happened that I worked with her at the circulation desk at the Library for almost 4 years. During this time, Dot warmed up to me and took me as one of hers. I got to meet her entire family and she got to meet mine. I'd go to her house to house sit her cat, though I had never been around cats (but anything for her) Post graduation, she never missed a birthday of mine...I could go on and on. I last saw her in 2012 when I took my 300 plus wedding invitations to her to tie the ribbon by hand. She was unable to make the wedding. I spoke to her after the wedding and months later and then life happened and I lost touch. Had I known that would be the last time, I would have hugged her tighter and longer, I would have told her how much she meant and still means to me over and over...oh what I would have done differently. Over the years I called her # and it was not the right one and I thought maybe she moved back home, unbeknownst to me, she did transition home, just not the one I was hoping for. I am glad I found Amber on Facebook today, who gave me news. Dot-Dot, you were one of a kind, you made my time at Campbell enjoyable (even when I had no family around, you became my family). God bless you, your children and grand children you left behind. I love you, rest well Dot my Campbell mom.

I am so saddened to hear of Ms. Dot's passing. I met her on Chris and Natalie Harper's wedding day...a day on which I had some special interaction with her as she joined the bride and bridesmaids as they prepared for the ceremony. She and I helped Natalie with her wedding gown together. I always enjoyed conversation with her whenever we would have occasions to be together. She was such a thoughtful and loving person and she will be deeply missed. I will be holding you in my thoughts and praying for you during this difficult time.

My Wife and I married and Dot was very much apart of our lives. She watched us grow as girlfriend and boyfriend at Campbell University and then watched us get married. So sad to hear she is gone....

I will miss hearing Dots laugh and talking with her, and running into her at Wal-Mart. She was a very special person. I enjoyed working with her here and at Campbell. I will miss her so much. You all are in my prayers. God Bless You.

I am going to miss Dot. I learned to know and love her briefly before my husband (Barry Howard)'s death almost 6 years ago. Barry loved her and had a special friendship with her. After I moved to the Creek, we saw lots of one another at water aerobics. Mist recently I tried to visit with her weekly at Emerald Care Ctr. She was a dear, sweet, gifted lady and will be missed by so many of us. My sympathies to her family. Beverley Howard

My heart was heavy when I received the news of Dot's passing to be with her heavenly Father.Heavy for me but glad for her as she now has a pain free renewed body.I have been so blessed to be able to call her my friend. She was one of the five ladies who have been part of our Friday night girl out group. She could bring smiles and laughter to us after a long Friday. She was that special kind of person with much wit and love.Talks with her helped me see things more clearly. These good memories will go with me each day forward until I can meet up with her in heaven.
