Elizabeth Dix

Cora Elizabeth Dix, 84, of Fayetteville, died Monday November 30, 2020. She was born in Parkton, NC September 12, 1936 to the late Luther David and Beulah Gray Thompson. She was a homemaker and a woman of faith who read her Bible daily and called Lafayette Baptist Church home. She loved watching birds, flowers, and NASCAR, with Kyle Busch being one of her favorites. It was said that she raised her children at the Fayetteville Speedway. She may have been feisty, opinionated and set in her ways, but she lived a good life and loved her family. In addition to her parents, Luther and Bula Thompson, she was preceded in death by her husband William Veston Dix; sister, Daphine Thompson Shaw; and brothers, Worth, Lloyd, Billy, and LeRoy Thompson. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Faye Turlington and Theresa Simpson; sons, William David Dix and his wife Soledad, Robert Franklin Dix and his companion Linda and Richard Kevin Dix; grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Arlene, Brandon, Josh, Natalie, Willie, Carla and Keith; Great grandchildren, Brian, Jr., Delaney, Nolan, Savannah, Jayden, Haleigh, Aubrianna, Hayven, Wesley, Jessica, Ashton and Lexie; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be announced in the near future.  McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls is serving the family.

I feel so sad about losing Aunt Elizabeth. She was only 13 yrs. old when I was born. She was always good to me and my siblings and she was always lots of fun to be with. I have great memories of her, but I sure will miss her. Her legacy is the good children she raised. David, Frankee, Janice, and Rick....you are the best! I love you very much. I hope to see you again soon.
