George Connors

February 25, 1945 — January 14, 2020

George Ball Connors, 74, of Kernersville, formerly of St. Pauls, died Tuesday January 14, 2020. He was born in Claymont, Delaware on February 25, 1945 to the late Robert Cook and Ruth Ann Farrow Connors. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served with the Anti-Submarine Warfare Force and he was a member of the St. Pauls American Legion. He retired from DuPont. An avid golfer, he was, also, a man of faith participating regularly with Christus Victor Lutheran Church of Charlotte. The family wishes to thank all those who supported George and helped him and visited him during his 9-year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cook Connors, Jr., he is survived by his wife Susie Inman Connors; children, Robert Connors, Kathy Connors, Ruth Thomas, Cindy Welch and Robert Wallace, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Sally Reardon; and brothers, Chuck Connors, Bill Connors and David Connors. A visitation will be held Thursday January 16, 2020 from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls with a graveside funeral service scheduled following the visitation at 1:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton. Reverend Robert Wallace will be officiating. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
