Herman Haywood Smith, 88, of St. Pauls, North Carolina died Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Highland Acres Nursing & Rehabilatation Center in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, NC August 25, 1925 to the late Fred L. and Lou Ann Norton Smith. He was a supervisor in the textile industry. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tony Haywood Smith and his wife Nancy and Jimmy Herman Smith all of St. Pauls; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday November 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Church of God, 111 Lafayette Street, St. Pauls, NC with Pastor Mark Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls.
