James Steigerwald

James Roy “JR” Steigerwald, 64, of St. Pauls, NC, died Monday October 29, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. He was born on February 15, 1954 in Binghamton, New York to Robert Louis Steigerwald and the late Helen Jean Brown Steigerwald. He served as a Town Administrator for many years. A man of faith, he attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hope Mills, NC. He was an active member of the St. Pauls Lions Club, very active with the Walker-Loflin Fund. JR was a soccer and baseball official and was most proud of being an Eagle Scout. He had a ready smile and loving personality. Preceded in death by his mother, Helen Steigerwald, he is survived by his daughter, Laura Bennett Steigerwald of Baltimore, MD; wife, Anna Steigerwald of St. Pauls; father, Robert L. Steigerwald and his wife Mary of Raleigh; brothers, John Steigerwald and his wife Pattie of Cary, NC, Bill Steigerwald and his wife Sandy of Burnsville, NC, Steve Steigerwald and his wife Marirose of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Steigerwald of Raleigh, NC; sister, Anne Faul and her husband John of Pawleys Island, SC; and many nieces, nephews and a large loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday November 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27609 with a visitation from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, also, at the church. A local Celebration of JR's Life will be held Tuesday November 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at St. Pauls Presbyterian Church.
