James "Jamie" Wright

James Edgar Wright, 57, of Parkton, died Thursday August 12, 2021 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Robeson County on June 26, 1964 to the late Fred and Thelma Clark Wright. Jamie was truly a caring man until the end. He loved fishing and NASCAR.  And he was a true fan of the Carolina Panthers. Jamie especially loved his guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Thelma Wright, sister, Debra Jones, nephew Steven Wright, and grandchild Harlee Williams. He is survived by his daughters, Sandee Wright and her fiancé, Matthew Williams, of Fayetteville and Shania Wright of Lumberton; grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Jr., Ivory Williams, and Aaliya Williams; sister Sandi Melvin and her husband Derrick, of Fayetteville; brother, Marty Wright and fiancé, Jeanette Decker of Fayetteville; and 2 nephews, Jason Wright of Fayetteville and Kent Beasley of Wilmington. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family is being served by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.

Jamie was a friend of the family for 40 plus years. This is a heartbreaking loss. He was a great guy. He would give you the shirt off his back. He will be truly missed by many. R.I.P. Jamie. Prayers going up for the family
