Jimmy Terry

Jimmy George Terry, 72, of St. Pauls, passed away March 22, 2021. A son of the late George Robert and Ruby Osborne Terry he was born in Robeson County on May 22, 1948. He had a lifetime love of sports, especially baseball, from the Cubs to the Braves, basketball was always Duke and “anybody but Carolina”, and in football it was “Go Steelers” and “anybody but the Cowboys”. He loved teaching and playing baseball, hitting homeruns and flawlessly playing centerfield. He was always kind and gentle. He believed that whether you win or lose always hold your head high and give your best in the everyday game. He is a true example of an MVP. We love you.

In addition to his parents, Robert and Ruby Terry, he was preceded in death by sisters Bashie Terry Sandor and Marilyn Terry Baxley. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie Brisson Terry; three children, Monica Terry Lucks and her husband Tim of Kernersville, Paula Renee Terry and special friend Wanda Strickland, and Jonathan George Terry both of St. Pauls; special fur babies, Zoey and Bella; three sisters, Mary Terry Garcia of Lancaster, SC, Betty Terry Stone of Clarksville, VA, Rose Ann Terry Hilburn of St. Pauls, and one brother, L. Paul Terry of St. Pauls; and two grandsons, Tim Michael Lucks II and Ryan Andrew Lucks. A visitation will be held Thursday March 25, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home with a graveside funeral service scheduled for 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge Cemetery, with Reverend Andy White officiating. The family is being served by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
