Marie Hollingsworth

Marie Sykes Hollingsworth, 85, of St. Pauls, NC died Sunday August 26, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born in Bladen County, NC January 1, 1933 to the late John W. and Delma Jones Sykes. She was a member of The Life Center. A homemaker taking care of her family, her children called her the “Best Mom in the world” and said she was a “Mom to all.” Although she enjoyed fishing and traveling through the mountains and hills, and was good at word puzzle books, she loved her grandchildren the most. She really liked having “those babies”, as she called them, around her. She is survived by her children, Ricky Hollingsworth and his finace’ Sherri Willoughby; Margaret Gibson and her husband Phil, Barbara Hollingsworth, Faye Fell and her husband Gary, Joann Williams and her husband Dicky, Buddy Hollingsworth and Foster Britt; sister, Joan Taylor; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren. A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday August 29, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls with Funeral Services planned for Thursday August 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at The Life Center, 498 E. McDuffie Crossing Road, St. Pauls, NC 28384. Pastor Michael Gist will be officiating and burial will follow the service in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
