Mary Anne Boose

Mary Anne (Allen) Boose, 80, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida after an extended illness. Mary Anne was born on September 1, 1939 in St. Pauls, NC to the late Tracy Howard Allen and Sadie Ross Allen. She graduated from Warren Wilson College in 1961 with an Associate’s degree, and married shortly afterwards. A stay-at-home mother for many years, she later worked as an optical technician in Raleigh for more than 20 years before retiring in 2012. She was active in the singles ministry at Providence Baptist Church for many years, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Mary Anne is survived by her son, Randall R. Boose, husband of Paralea Wrights Boose, and her daughter, Lisa Kay (Boose) Spainhour, wife of Myron Spainhour, both from her marriage to Ray O. Boose of Raleigh, NC. She was the devoted grandmother of Jacob, Daniel, Sarah, and Rebecca Spainhour. She is survived by her sister Ruby Davis and brothers Lester and Freddie Allen, and predeceased by brothers Wayne and Eugene Allen. She is also survived by maternal aunt Josie Sessoms and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2020 at McNeill-Mackie Funeral Home in St. Pauls, NC, immediately prior to the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Ronald Loftis officiating.
