Peggy McArthur

Peggy Sue McArthur, 60, of St. Pauls, NC passed away peacefully at home on Monday November 11, 2019. She was born in Robeson County on February 22, 1959 to the late Elbert and Docia Lee Oxendine. Peggy was described by her family as a colorful, God-fearing woman who spoke as fiercely as she loved. To her daughters she seemed larger than life and they only hope they can be half of the woman she was. To her husband she was the soulmate God sent to him. Twenty-six years ago neither were looking for each other but the Lord had plans to take two families and make one. She touched so many people in so many ways and will always live in their hearts. Peggy is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jerry McArthur; daughters, Amanda Huff and her husband Chad of Leland, NC, Jenny Gaylord and her husband Dean of Leland, NC, Nicole Lindsey of Wilmington, NC, and Renee Oxendine of St. Pauls, NC; ten grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Adam, Alexa and husband Jonathan, Anthony, Miranda, Joshua, Alexus, Parker, Gracie, and Jeremiah; two great grandchildren, Kaytlynn and Braelyn. A visitation will be held on Friday November 15, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church, 337 S. Elizabeth Street, St. Pauls, NC with a funeral service, also, scheduled for Friday November 15, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church, the Reverend David Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, St. Pauls. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.

Aunt Peggy, I can't believe you are gone. I can't believe how many of our family members have left this Earth but I try to remind myself, yall are rejoicing together in Heaven and looking down on us all from heaven. You're finally home with your other siblings and as much as I'm gonna miss you, I'm sure Heaven is a little brighter with you there. Hug Mama for me! You'll forever stay in my heart. I love you!

Hi, I am Ronald Sanders and my wife Lyn. In 1999 I videod a wedding for her. Peggy and Jerry were excited to introduce me to a woman. To be honest, this happened a lot at the church we attended.I did the wedding, and they introduced me to Lyn. As usual, They sat Lyn and I side by side. Peggy thought it was hilarious, all giggly and smiles.I conversed with her, memorized hee telephone number and 2 months later called. Then 3 months later, the Holy Ghost told me to call Lyn.To make a long story short, a yeae and a half later we married.Peggy and Jerry remodeled their 10 ft by 15ft office in their back yard for us to live. Lyn and I lived there for 9 months. Peggy called it the "Love Shack", I guess that was a pretty good description. When we purchased our home, right down the street, Peggy and Jerry helped us get settled. The shandalier she gave us, still hangs in our dining room. The well pump Jerry installed still runs well today.Sister Peggy and Brother Jerry had great impact on Lyn and I. Since our marriage, God has transformed the ministry, but God had to get me to Leland for that to take place. God used Sister Peggy and Brother Jerry to accomplish that.Thank You GuysDr. Ronald Sanders PhD and Pastor Lyn "Babyluv" Sanders

I'm gonna miss your beautiful face, your beautiful soul. I'm gonna miss our talks, like the last one we had Sunday night where you were so happy and had the biggest smile on your face. Thank you for all your sacrifices momma, love your baby girl.

Ms Peggy was one of the strongest women I ever had the pleasure of knowing. She was so funny, such a good cook and she loved her family with every ounce of herself. She will definitely be missed! Rest easy God's newest angel.

My sweet sweet aunt. She was so funny and a firecracker. Aunt Peggy loved people and most of all her family. This was such a shock. It just doesnt seem the same. I love you all and am definitely gonna miss her. She was a beautiful person. Her heart was made from pure gold. I will always love and cherish you. I so hope after seeing Jesus that you got to see both grandmas, Grandaddys, uncle Glenn, my dad and brother and so many others. Please tell them that we love and miss them so so much. I loveed her like a mom. She helped me become the woman I am today. When my papa was in hospice she was right there with me every chance she got. It was truly heartbreaking to get the news. She will never be forgotten.
