Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, Lumberton, NC Nov 18 2019 12:00 AM

To the Skipper Family,I was so sorry and surprised to hear of Rev. Bruce's passing. I will never forget the Saturday Lay Leadership Evangelism Workshop that I attended with Bruce and Michelle. Not only did Bruce TRULY love the Lord, but he taught me how to better share that love with others. I also had the privilege to work with Bruce when he came to Hay Street UMC to present an award to our pastor. I was TRULY touched how Bruce and Michelle took time out of their busy Sunday morning of worship to come and personally present the award, to include a heart-felt testament. Bruce ALWAYS brought a smile to my face and love to my heart. You will continue to be in my prayers for comfort, strength, and peace during this monumental loss. With Christian Love & Support,Brian Gaskell, Lay LeaderHay Street UMC

At all times Brother Bruce was truly like the eye of the storm in times of trouble. In that eye of the is stillness. Anyone could sense his peaceful, loving spirit and be drawn to him for kindness, comfort, and a good word. Im praying for the family, St. Pauls church and community, and the loss of Bruces pastoral witness our District and Conference.

Deb Wilkins Nov 7 2019 12:00 AM

I am honored to have had the joy and gift of sharing some mission work with Bruce. I always looked forward to being with Bruce. He was fun and funny. Bruce was so sincere in his faith and so willing to share with total lack of judgement. I hope I can be at least a little like the Christ that was so evident in him. He will be missed across the nations. Blessings and love to Michelle and the family.

In 35 years of ministry I have rarely met anyone with the passion and fervor for making disciples for Jesus Christ like Rev. Bruce Skipper. You wouldnt be long in Bruces presence without know of his love for Jesus Christ and his love for othersit showed. He will be much missed where he served locally and across the Annual Conference. My prayers and heartfelt sympathies go to Michelle, family and friends.
