Theodore "Ted" Brinson, Jr.

Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt Brinson, Jr., 81, of Parkton died Monday March 22, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in New Bern, Craven County, NC on November 19, 1939 to the late Theodore R. and Amy Ruth Hardison Brinson. He served with the United States Army as a military policeman and retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol. A man of faith, he served in many capacities with Parkton Presbyterian Church. He was an active Mason for 46 years, serving as Master of the Lodge twice, Certified Lecturer, Deputy District Grand Lecturer and Deputy District Grand Master, Assistant Lodge Secretary and Lodge Secretary for 12 years and receiving the Secretary of Distinction honor and was named Master Mason of the Year.

In addition to his parents, Theodore and Ruth Brinson, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Brinson Hall; brother, Donald C. Brinson; step-brother, Stephen George; step-father, Manley George; brother-in-law’s, Glen Wayne and Jimmy Daniels; and mother-in-law, Marie Joyner. He is survived by his wife Peggy Joyner Brinson; son, Theodore (Buddy) Brinson III and his wife Linda; grandchildren, Jonathan Brinson and his wife Danesse, Justin Brinson, Joseph Brinson and his wife Caroline, Will Hall, Jimmy Hall, Jr., Marliese Billodeaux and her husband Phillip; great-granddaughters, Phebe and Naomi Brinson, and Natalia and Sophia Hall; son-in-law, Jimmy Hall, Sr.; sister-in-law, Libby Brinson; and special brother and sisters, Robert E. Joyner and his wife Betty and Dot Wayne and Evon Daniels.  In lieu of flowers, the family will accept cards, but suggests memorial contributions to Parkton Presbyterian Church or a charity of one’s choice.

A visitation will be held Saturday March 27, 2021 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Parkton Presbyterian Church, with a funeral service scheduled for 10:00 AM with Pastors Rob Price and Archie Barringer officiating. Burial will follow the service at 3:00 PM at Amity Christian Church Cemetery, 7022 Neuse Road, Grantsboro, NC 28529. The Family is being served by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.

Ted was not only a brother State Trooper but a close friend and Co worker in Cumberland County SHP. Ted raised me in the Masonic Lodge. I will miss you brother Ted but I will always cherish the memories we had together! for the family!
