Walter "Mike" Chason

Walter "Mike" Michael Chason, 67, of Lumber Bridge died August 19, 2016. He was born May 19, 1949, in Scotland County, North Carolina, to the late T.C. and Janie Mae Stephens Chason. He was a founding member of the Lumber Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Chief for 15 years prior to retiring. As a member of Arran Lake Baptist Church, he and his wife Glenda served as coordinators of the First Impression Team. Mike is survived by his wife, Glenda McKenzie Chason; daughters, Jodie Pickler and husband, Terrance, Jennifer West and husband, Jody, and Melinda Oxendine and husband, Ryan; grandchildren, Jayden, Isabella, Parker and Tanner; and brothers, Steve Chason and partner, Lynn and Tony Chason and wife, Tina. Mike's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 11:00 am at Arran Lake Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 6-8 pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
