William "Billy" Hickman

William "Billy" Iverson Hickman, Jr., 84, of St. Pauls, NC died Wednesday February 21, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Robeson County on August 28, 1933 to the late Willie Iverson and Frances Oneal Johnson Hickman. He was an active member of Great Marsh Baptist Church. An avid LA Dodgers fan, he was a true baseball historian. Having served in the US Army, he was a patriot who valued our freedoms and passed those beliefs and values on to his grandchildren. They called him the "Best Papa". In addition to his  parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Dunham and a son James William Hickman. He is survived by his wife, Billie Ruth Hickman; sons, James "JR" Robert Hickman and Timothy Iverson Hickman; daughter, Sandra Williams; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A Visitation is scheduled for Friday February 23, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Don Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
