Agnes Pearl Harris

Agnes Pearl Benton Walters Harris, age 99, of St. Pauls, NC, was born in Robeson County to the late Barley and Ruby Benton and peacefully departed this life for her heavenly home on September 17, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Walters; her husbands, Jack Walters (Howard) and David M. Harris; and her siblings, Lacy Benton, Mary Alma Dill, Winford Benton, H. B. Benton, Janice Rushing, Grady Benton, and Tommy Benton.

Agnes is survived by her children, Howard Walters of St. Pauls, Faye Thompson of St. Pauls, and Joanie White and husband David of St. Pauls. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Beth Walters Caulley, Jennifer Walters, Teresa Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Rodney Thompson, Charli White, Julia Walters Bridgers, and Richard Walters, along with fifteen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She is also survived by her step-sons, David Harris Jr. and Daryl Harris, along with twenty step-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Linda McLendon of Dudley, NC, Bobby Benton of Lumberton, NC, and Shelby Wilson of New Castle, Wyoming. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of special friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of UNC Southeastern and Liberty Homecare and Hospice, especially her angels, Felisha, Tracey, and Brittany, for their compassionate care.  We would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church and Westview Pentecostal Holiness Church for their prayers and support.
