Barbara Jean Walters, age 86, of St. Pauls, North Carolina, passed away on August 5, 2026 at Hospice of Randolph in Asheboro.

Born on November 13, 1939, in Dillon, South Carolina, Barbara was the daughter of the late Boyd Goodman and Irene Norris Goodman. She devoted many years of her life working in the textile industry and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church. Barbara will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind heart, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifton "Witt" Walters, and her brother, Windell Goodman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Janet R. Hicks (Mark) of Ramseur; her son, James "Jimmy" Walters (Cindy) of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Chris Walters and Jason Walters; and two great-grandchildren, Damian and Amelia Rose.

A graveside service will be held at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
