Brenda Carol Overpeck

Brenda Carol Overpeck, age 80 of Oak Island, NC was born October 13, 1942, in Richmond Co., to the late John Hughes and Topsy Poplin Hughes and departed this life, April 4, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Overpeck; three brothers, Donnie Hughes, Jerry Hughes and Howard Hughes; and three sisters, Frances Shipman, Linda Jones and Mildred Jernigan.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, her son, John Charles Overpeck and wife, Julie of Southport; her daughter, Denise Jewell of Leland; two brothers, Jim Hughes of Orrum and Charles Hughes of Stedman; one sister, Dale Sandy of Indian Trail; two grandchildren, Jordan Sanford and Travis Hardin both of Leland; two great grandchildren, Daevan Gibson of Shelby and Ophelia Sanford of Leland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
