Dorothy “Dottie” Butler Parnell, age 88 of Parkton, NC was born June 6, 1935 in Robeson Co., NC to the late Henry Surles Butler, Sr. and Mildred Blount Butler and departed this life for her heavenly home on June 26, 2023 at Hope Mills Retirement Center in Hope Mills.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Alfred “Alf” Parnell; one son, Dennis Michael Parnell and one brother, Henry Butler.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Alfred Mitchell Parnell and wife, Denise of Winter Springs, FL; a daughter in-law, Donna McNeill Parnell of Hope Mills; five grandchildren, Kelly Parnell Hunt and husband, Andrew of Hope Mills, Dennis Matthew “Matt” Parnell of Parkton, Andrew Mitchell Parnell and wife, Amanda of Winter Springs, FL; Laura Boarts and husband, Matthew of Hope Mills and Chelsea Parnell Ellis and husband, Terin of Parkton; three great grandchildren, Madison, Jonah and Brayden; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
