James “Jimmy” F. White Jr.

With heavy hearts the family of James “Jimmy” Fred White Jr. announces that our beloved Jimmy passed away peacefully in his home on September 5, 2025. Jimmy was born in St. Pauls, North Carolina to James Fred White Sr. and Sadie Tyner White on March 1, 1943.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sadie White, daughter Pam White Dove, brother-in-law Danny W. Smith, and nephew Luke Wingenbach.

Left to cherish the memories are his wife of 21 years, Brenda Hall, niece that was loved like a daughter, Ashlie Inman (Kolbey), and their children, Kason and Kinlee. Sisters, Anne White of Overland Park, Kansas; Lisa Harper (David) of Belmont, North Carolina; and Lynne Melby (Allan) of Roaring River, North Carolina. In laws - Sue and Jerry Carroll of St. Pauls, North Carolina; Larry and Vicki Hall of Cary, North Carolina; Bunny Smith of Wright City, Missouri; and Teri and Andy White of St. Pauls, North Carolina. A cousin who he loved as a brother, Gene Everette (Pat) of Dobson, North Carolina. Along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews that he cherished dearly.

Graduating from St. Pauls High School in 1962 he attended Worth Business College in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He then joined the Army National Guard for which he served 6 years. After serving for 6 years in the Guard he joined the insurance business with Home Beneficial/American General in which he worked for 45 years. During these 45 years he never met a stranger - he knew everybody, and everybody knew him. When you seen the little gray Toyota Corolla, you knew it was “The Insurance Man”.

His favorite hobby was fishing, and he was the happiest when he was on his way to the Outer Banks with his fishing buddies. Every year he would come home with a story about the great times they had or who caught the biggest fish (or who let the big one get away) - which was always him. Many looked forward to seeing what was caught, because they knew he would have a fish fry which was always enjoyed by friends and family.

When he wasn’t selling insurance or fishing, you could often times catch him at McDonalds, sitting with the “McDonald’s Gang” enjoying a cup of coffee. They always talked about the ins and outs of town or how they would solve the world's problems. In his later years he enjoyed kicking back in his recliner watching a western, usually Gunsmoke or Audie Murphy movies.

A man who was true to his word - he always did what he said he would do, and he would never be late to any event. He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.

The family would like to thank nurses - Talissa, Lori, and Danielle and social worker - Janet Lawson, for providing support during this difficult transition.
