Janice Taylor

September 14, 1956 — January 7, 2017

Janice Osborne Taylor, 60, of St. Pauls, is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior—Jesus Christ. A beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend to many, she will be remembered for her love and compassion for others. Throughout her life she was a devoted and loving wife of her husband of 35 years, Ricky Taylor. He was the great love of her life. Ricky was with her January 7, 2017 when she passed away at Highsmith Rainey Hospital. Her many accomplishments included working with seniors in her churches and leading women ministries. Janice was a guest speaker at many church functions. She never met a stranger. After many trials and losing her leg, you could still see her on her hover-round riding around her neighborhood greeting all she saw and stopping to chat awhile. Sitting on her front porch with Ricky was one of her great joys. Her many friends would pass by and wave, while Dorla and Kenny would come by and stay with her. She so enjoyed their visits. Janice enjoyed sitting in her wheelchair at a table in McDonalds talking with her many friends as long as she was able to do so. Her battle with her illness started raging in March of 2016 and it was a continuous struggle for her. She showed much courage in her battle for life. Throughout her life, Janice read the Bible several times and her strong faith in God prevailed. Playing piano and organ by ear was of great comfort to her. Through the years she helped her husband, Ricky, pastor a church and spread God’s ministry. All of these things are just a fraction of how Janice lived her life. Preceded in death by her father, Charles. L. Osborne; mother, Joyce H. Osborne; sister, Linda F. Bell; and brothers, Ronald P. Osborne and Donald R. Osborne, she is survived by her husband Ricky Taylor of the home; sisters, Nancy K. Walters and her husband Neil of Garner and Deborah Suggs of Fayetteville; special cousins, Kenny and Dorla Osborne of St. Pauls and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday January 11, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls with Funeral Services being held Thursday January 12, 2017 at Westview Pentecostal Holiness Church in St. Pauls at 2:00 PM.
