Joseph Francis Alexander, age 79, of St. Pauls, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at UNC Hospitals. He was born on October 30, 1946, in Staten Island, New York, to the late Chester Ray Alexander and Mary Fay Alexander.

Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an industrial electrician in the manufacturing industry.

Joseph was a diehard NC State fan and an avid fan of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. He will be remembered for the life he lived, the things he enjoyed, and the memories he leaves behind with those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Nicole Alexander of St. Pauls; his grandson, RaShawn Joseph Jones of St. Pauls; his former wife, Cynthia Smith of St. Pauls; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at McNeill-Legacy Funeral Home in St. Pauls, North Carolina.
