J.W. Gray

J.W. Gray, age 82 of St. Pauls, was born October 5, 1941 in Bladen Co., NC to the late John Howard Gray and Ilar Hayes Gray and departed this life, December 13, 2023 at Morrison Manor – Scotland Regional Hospice in Laurinburg surrounded by his loving family.

In addition to his parents, J.W. was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Hopkins; one grandson, James Gray; one son in-law, Sheldon Gudmundson and nine siblings, Eva Estep, Juanita Holloman, Cora Gray, Eugene Gray, F.D. Gray, J.D. Gray, Harvey Gray, Woodrow Gray and Charlie Gray.

J.W. leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing his wife, Julia M. “Judy” Gray; four children, Joanne Gudmundson, Linda McKeithan (James); Brenda Taylor (Jack) and Pam Ruby (Bob); two brothers, Jack Gray and Johnny Gray; two sisters, Pauline Davis and Marie Caulder; eight grandchildren, David (Ellen); Christina (Jarrod), Benjamin, Justin (Sarah), Breana, Starr (David), Sierra and Nikki (Casey); eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

J.W. retired from serving in the US Army.
