Patricia Ann “Tricia” Hogan, age 68 of Raleigh, NC departed this life to her eternal home on July 4, 2024 at WakeMed in Raleigh.
Tricia is preceded in death by her parents, Ocie and Juanita Hogan and a sister, Carolyn Hogan.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her sudden passing, her devoted husband, Curt Progl of the home; one brother, Chic Hogan of Beaufort, two nephews, Brad and David and a host of other relatives and friends.
Tricia was born December 9, 1955 to Ocie and Jaunita Hogan in St Pauls NC. From the start she was a mover, shaker and music lover. She would frequently lead the neighborhood kids on creek jumping and tree climbing challenges. She did not lose any of that as she grew up and eventually went to Meridith College in Raleigh graduating with a B.S. in math. There she met the greatest group of girlfriends you could ask for and who recently celebrated 50 years of friendship. Of course, Tricia had to make sure that no one went hungry during one of their gatherings by cooking a variety of foods. She always credited her mom for her cooking skills and her fried chicken will be missed.
It was during her time at Meredith that she met her husband, Curt Progl. Like most people he was smitten by her beautiful blue eyes and amazing smile. During their time together she was the handyman of the house. She loved her projects, if she did not know anything about the problem she would "go to school" online and figure it out. Tricia loved animals and was responsible for "rescuing" Torr, our beloved dog. She also looked after the wildlife around the house including birds, squirrels and lizards. Tricia had to have music in her life, which she got from her dad; She loved most styles, going to live music and dancing. There was always a transistor radio nearby in event of a power outage.
Tricia was a great friend to many people and often went out of her way to check on their well-being. After first meeting her you felt like you always knew her. Maybe it was her positive attitude towards life that made you so comfortable around her. Tricia seemed to have boundless energy. She liked to be in motion and moving slow was not an option. While cut short she had a life full of experiences and if you knew her you loved her.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local ASPCA or St. Pauls Presbyterian Church.
