Sharon Williams Paul age 77, of Fayetteville, North Carolina formally of Oak Island was born July 6, 1946 in Cumberland Co., North Carolina to the Norlie Williams and Ruby Budd Britt and departed this life, March 4, 2024 at Village Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by a brother, Pete Williams.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing her husband, Thomas E. Paul of Fayetteville; two brothers, Richard “Dickie” Williams of St. Pauls and Austin Williams of Greys Creek; sister in laws, Connie Greendoner of Hockessin, Delaware and Susan Williams of Boiling Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim Hickey and wife, Kathy of Baltimore, Maryland; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Sharon was a resident of Oak Island for over 30 years, prior to settling there, she and her husband traveled throughout the world fulfilling the Military duties of her husband.
Sharon was a realtor by trade and she along with her husband owned The Paul Team Realty Group in Oak Island. Sharon Paul, Realtor® was member of the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® from 1998-2017. In her 19 years, Sharon served the members in Brunswick County in many ways. As a Director on the Board from 1999-2000 to President in 2001. She served as Past President in 2002 and returned to the Board of Directors as a Director in 2003-2005 and 2014-2016.
Sharon was chairperson for the Membership Committee, Legislative/PAC Committee, Bylaws & Policy Task Force, and the Education Task Force. In addition, she served on the Community Affairs Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, NCAR Awards Task Force, MLS Task Force, Nominating Committee, Budget & Finance Task Force, and the Realtor/Affiliate of the Year committee. The love for teaching evolved when Sharon started teaching the Association New Member Orientation. She then went on to get certified to teach continuing education classes through the NC Real Estate Commission.
Sharon was awarded the Realtor® of the Year in 2004 and again in 2014. This award is to honor Realtors® who have provided outstanding service to their local, state, and national associations, their profession, and their community.
She will be missed by many!!!
