Vadis Smith McDonald

Vadis Smith McDonald, age 94 of Fayetteville, North Carolina was born January 9, 1930 in Bladen Co., to the late Luther O. Smith and Izzie Hughes Smith and departed this life to her heavenly home on September 20, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

In addition to her parents, Vadis is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hugh McDonald; one son, Walter Hershel Hewett; her son in law Howard “Butch” Mason and her brother, William Delbert Smith.

Ms. McDonald leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, four sons, Luther Christopher Hewett (Betty Joe), Kenneth Marshall Hewett (Marion) all of Leland, Robert Douglas McDonald and William Allen McDonald (Sally) all of Fayetteville; one daughter, Teresa McDonald Mason of Fayetteville; a daughter in-law, Betty Hewett of Palm Bay, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
