Vilyn Chavis

Vilyn Chavis, age 56 of Red Springs, NC the son of Donald Chavis and the late Wanda Chavis was born November 15, 1967 in Robeson Co. and departed this life into eternity on August 19, 2024.

In addition to his mother, Wanda Chavis, Vilyn is preceded in death by his stepmother, Cathy Chavis; his grandmother, Viler Jane Chavis; a son, Presley Prather and his mother in-law, Shelby Tyler Hardin.

Vilyn was a dedicated worker at True Value of Pembroke (Curts) for 10 years until his sickness. Vilyn spent a majority of his time doing what he loved, hunting and fishing with his sons, creating lifelong memories.

Vilyn leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing, his wife, Ginger Hardin Chavis; five sons, Courtney Chavis, Tyler Chavis, Andrew Prather. Noah Chavis and Jeremiah Chavis all of Red Springs; three daughters, Vianna Chavis of Red Springs, Hannah Chavis and companion Alex Armon of Hope Mills and Winter Chavis of Red Springs; Vilyn also leaves behind one granddaughter, Madalyn Chavis; five grandsons, Zyler Chavis, Corbyn Chavis, Astyn Armon, Tylon Chavis and Asher Armon; his father, Rev. Donald Chavis of Lumberton; his father in-law, Harry Hardin of Red Springs; brothers, Bucky Chavis and Saron Chavis and wife, Rhonda all of Lumberton; his sisters, Shane Chavis, Shawn Bullard and husband, Roy and Kathy Marie Locklear and husband, Tony all of Red Springs; several nieces and nephews; a special niece and nephew Faith Locklear Hunt and Charles Locklear; a special cousin, Jimmy Dwayne (Jazzy) Jacobs; special uncle Jimmy (Jake) Jacobs and a host of other relatives and friends.
